Simona Cappabianca was born in Naples in 1992 and began studying the violin at the age of five under the guidance of her father, Gennaro. She graduated with highest honors from the “Cimarosa” Conservatory in Avellino, continuing her studies with S. Quaranta, F. Manara, and D. Pascoletti.
In 2014, she completed the Advanced Studies Courses of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, specializing in Solo Violin and Chamber Music. She subsequently pursued further studies with Maestro K. Sahatci at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, where she graduated with distinction in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in Performance.
She has attended numerous masterclasses, including the Internationale Sommerakademie at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she studied with Maestros Michael Frischenschlager and Chia-Hong Drapal Liao.
At just 23 years of age, she was selected by Maestro Riccardo Muti to serve as concertmaster of the “L. Cherubini” Youth Orchestra. Following several successful auditions, she has also collaborated with the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Filarmonica della Scala, and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana.
In 2017, after winning a public competition, she joined the Orchestra of Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and founded the Eilat Quartet, with which she has performed in major concert seasons.
In 2019, she won the competition for a tutti violin position with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, a position she held until 2021. That same year, she won the competition for Assistant Principal Second Violin at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
She plays an “Adelino Galeazzi” violin dating from 1867.
